Databases

• Databases are a way of organising data via software. Structured Query Language (SQL) provides a powerful way to search for data.

• Grainspotter results are currently loaded into a (Derby) database

• We propose to provide database support for all programs

• Databases to be permanently stored on files and persist between sessions

• Databases will be accessible from Java, Python and C

• Possible implementations to use are Derby, Hypersonic SQL, SQLLite

• A graphical user interface will allow browsing and plotting of data
