This is the README of the XOP extension "rodgui"

Definitions:
============

"XOP" : A multiplatform graphical user interface  for synchrotron 
        radiation spectral, optics and data analysis calculations. 
	For more info, see:

"XOP extension" is a software package which is not part of the XOP 
                installation, but it can be installed optionally and run 
                under the XOP interface.


RODGUI:
=======
A Graphical User Interface to the surface crystallography program ROD.

ROD is a program for surface crystallography modeling and fitting 
written by Elias Vlieg (vlieg@sci.kun.nl).

The Graphical User Interface (RODGUI) has been written by Andre Wilms 
and M. Sanchez del Rio.

Requirements:
=============
  1) A Unix Machine (Hewlett-Packard, Sun-Solaris, Silicon Graphics, Linux) or
     PC (Windows95/NT)
  2) XOP installed on it.
  3) installing RODGUI for XOP-EMBEDDED (see next).

installing RODGUI for XOP-EMBEDDED
==================================
  1) Download files:
     Unix: ftp://ftp.esrf.fr/expg/idl/xop/extensions/rodgui/rodgui.tar.Z
     Windows: ftp://ftp.esrf.fr/expg/idl/xop/extensions/rodgui/rodgui.zip
  2) Unix:
       i)  Copy (or move) rodgui.tar.Z to your .../xop/extensions directory
       ii) Change directory to .../xop/extensions
       iii) Unpack rodgui.tar.Z with the unix command:
            cat rodgui.tar.Z | tar xvf -
           As a result you should one file and one directory
            rodgui.sav (file)
            RODGUI (directory)
	   
     Windows:
       i) Use the (32-bit) WinZip shareware program to unpack the
            rodgui.zip file in the c:\xop\extensions directory.
          As a result you should obtain a directory "rodgui"
	    under c:\xop\extensions
       ii) Copy rodgui.sav to  c:\xop\extensions directory 
	   DOS COMMAND: 
	   copy c:\xop\extensions\rodgui\rodgui.sav c:\xop\extensions\rodgui.sav
       iii) Copy rod.exe to tha main c: directory 
	   (DOS COMMAND: cp c:\xop\extensions\rodgui\rod.exe c:\rod.exe)

  3) Start rodgui:
     Unix:
         i) At the  Unix prompt, type:
            xop rodgui
         ii) From the main XOP window:
            a) Select Tools -> IDL Macro
	    b) Clear the window and type rodgui
	    c) Select File -> Quit and accept changes
     Windows:
	 i) Double-click on c:\xop\extensions\rodgui\rodgui.bat
         ii) From the main XOP window:
            a) Select Tools -> IDL Macro
	    b) Clear the window and type rodgui
	    c) Select File -> Quit and accept changes
